It’s an exciting week at Evnex as we hit a major milestone — this week, our 1,000th charger was installed in Australia, by our friends at Sydney EV Chargers. Having entered the Australian market just last year, it's fantastic to see Aussies are embracing smart EV charging.

While New Zealand has always been our home, and will remain a key market for us, we see huge potential across the Tasman. Our increased focus on Australia is part of our larger vision to significantly expand our presence and continue scaling in the rapidly-growing EV market.

Why Australia?

Australia represents a huge opportunity for clean energy innovation. The number of electric vehicles in Australia is growing steadily, and we’re here to help drivers charge cleaner, smarter, and more affordably.

Beyond just EV charging, our technology supports Australia’s broader energy transition. As more households shift from gas to electric, and solar power becomes a central part of the energy grid, Evnex chargers allow users to schedule charging during off-peak hours. This not only reduces electricity costs but also minimises their reliance on fossil fuels.

What’s next for Evnex?

As we increase our footprint across Australia, we’re forecasting an additional 7,000 units to be sold across Australia and New Zealand over the next year.

Our partnerships with global brands like Polestar and CommBank reflect the trust that leading companies place in our technology and we’re looking forward to further exciting partnerships as we continue to grow.

Our Australia office at the Greenhouse Climate Tech Hub in Sydney is helping us to stay connected with the energy innovators across the country as we make strides toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for both Kiwis and Aussies.

To everyone who’s been part of this journey so far — thank you. Here’s to the next 1,000 chargers!
